HEAL INITIATIVE FOR HEALTH
HEAL initiative for health (HEAL initiative) is an indigenous non-government, non-profit health organization established to address healthcare access problems. It was initiated in 2022 by a group of young physicians and nurses in Tigray, Ethiopia. It was registered and licensed as per the Tigray regional state CSO legislation on charities and societies of Proclamation Number 327/2011 with the registration number 09/2015 in January 2023.
HEAL initiative for health aspires to see an opportunity being created where everyone has access to essential healthcare. The organization’s mission emphasizes activities to improve access to essential healthcare using an evidence-based, holistic, and participatory approach.
HEAL initiative for health is run by the board, which is the governing body of the organization and is assigned through the organization’s members every two years. The Board members under normal circumstances meet twice a year to lead the organization strategically and provide direction for its progress and capacity building. The day-to-day management of organizational activities is led by the Executive Director, with strong organizational rules and regulations and channels of communication within different departments (development, Administration and program).
